News broke in late March that Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal plans to open a new tennis club in Málaga. Nadal already has on his native island of Majorca the Rafa Nadal Academy with tennis courts, gym, swimming pools, a restaurant and a hotel and several clubs worldwide. Something similar should now come to Málaga where national and international tennis players can take courses, although it won’t be quite the same as the club in Mallorca.

The complex is estimated to include about 12 high-quality tennis courts and nine padel courts, in addition to a central court that can accommodate about 3,000 spectators. Other associated facilities include a gym, sports museum and social club
